Creative Digital Interaction SymposiumSeptember 14th, 2004 Lecture Theatre in Main Building Edinburgh College of Art Lauriston Place Edinburgh Scotland The computer is a multidisciplinary instrument that breaks traditional boundaries that divide the creative disciplines. Digital technology is not an end in itself, but is a powerful tool for solving creative problems. The structure for the day will be based around presentations by 6-8 speakers, with question sessions and a discussion forum. Watch this space for more information about the speakers, their topics for presentation, and the programme for the day. There will be demonstrations of some of the applications that the symposium's speakers will be discussing and these will be held on the day before and day after the symposium (13th and 15th September). An example is the two pieces of software that the Tacitus project has developed to demonstrate haptic (touch) and spatial virtual environments for creative interaction.
