My research explores understandings of landscape architecture as a basis of visual reasoning. This explores the agency of visual techniques and contextual reactions that seek to actively explore, capture and develop visual fields as a generative process that articulate transformation of the landscape. Central to this is a concern for how we can visually interpret dynamic patterns that engage landscape as an active field of social and ecological conditions. I presently have two interrelated strands of research: the first is a theoretical project, The Diagrammatic Landscape: A Field Semiotic, which influences the second strand, which is field projects of applied theory.
