Ogrin) published in volume 60(2) of Landscape and Urban Planning, selected from papers presented at the 2000 conference of the European Council of Landscape Architecture Schools in Dubrovnik. It arose from an invited Keynote paper at the conference. Its originality lies in its integration of innovative concepts for planning open space drawn from different fields and scholarly domains, and a vision for future approaches and challenges to be addressed.
