Staff Research Profiles

My work explores the relationship between the man made environment and what is perceived to be nature. This broad avenue of research incorporates varied directions, often in response to specific sites and locations, such as a floating garden on the River Leine in Hannover and a small sand village in a military tank in Berlin. Both were temporary installations which responded to their particular environment.

My work has also focussed upon urban developments and housing, but has recently shifted to examine what may be called the human condition. Although an element of social commentary has always pervaded my work, it has recently become more politicised.

Recent work still references nature, but in a more refined or metaphorical way with a sense of detachment and loss.
