An analysis of urban form in relation to geomorphological and hydrological processes, which uniquely advances the field by going on to examine current issues of urban flood remediation in relation to landscape evolution. A paper arising from the book chapter paper was delivered at the International Federation of Landscape Architecture (IFLA) conference in May 2005.
The European Federation of Landscape Architects in their September 2005 review said that the presentation was clear, detailed and a practised overview of the history of Edinburgh, which merited a plenary session.
One hundred people attended the paper delivery at the conference in 2005.
