Forest and Social Services - the Role of Research Vol 815

This peer-reviewed professional paper relates to design issues concerning the restructuring of production forests for recreation. Walkers were asked to make a short film of their journey through two forests and then to complete a questionnaire on their return. It was found that wayfinding interventions on trails are desired by users but should be as inconspicuous as possible in order to promote the illusion of undisturbed nature.
