Profile
My research inquiries have included the perception of forestry; integrated landscape architecture and public art; geology & hydrology in the making of Edinburgh; poetry and place; placenames and landscape character in the Scottish Highlands; case studies in sustainable landscape architecture. More recently and the field of landscape urbanism, I have developed ideas about how to make landscape ecology legible. With the completion of a postgraduate certificate in higher education I have begun to conduct research in pedagogy. This has led to action research projects on review methods and fieldwork.
