My design practice focuses on typography and layout with a particular interest in the relationship between the written word and design. In this symbiotic relationship how does the designer, by extension, contribute to meaning and therefore authorship?

I am also interested in the use of progressive disclosure in design, where mind (psychology) and space (design) need to be considered to enable the reader to move successfully from one point to the next, whether on a page or within a building. This 'wayfinding' touches upon semiotics and narrative. Here, I would like to investigate how design enables the progressive navigation of both space and meaning.
