For international students, Edinburgh is one of the most popular places in the UK to study. The outstanding learning experience offered at Edinburgh College of Art is now complemented by its merger with the University of Edinburgh which attracts students of the highest calibre from all over the world. The atmosphere at the College and at the University is truly international which adds a valuable global dimension to our educational programmes, widening horizons and offering new perspectives to students and staff alike.

Students come to the College for one or two semesters, or for an entire full-time Bachelor's or Master's degree programme. The College offers outstanding opportunities: those studying Art or Design will find themselves working in world-class studios in a deeply cultured city renowned for its galleries, museums and the Edinburgh International Festival. Those involved in Architecture and Landscape Architecture will appreciate Edinburgh's unique built and natural environment, which contrasts the medieval Old Town with the Georgian elegance of the New Town within a spectacular green setting. The city also offers access to resources, such as the Royal Botanic Gardens, and is not far from the beautiful wilderness of the Scottish Highlands.

Internationalisation is by nature a multi-directional process. While welcoming students from around the world, we also encourage our students to travel widely and study at other universities, colleges and institutions. This interchange of experiences and cultures enriches the creative development of all students. Over many years, the College has built up an impressive global network of educational links for both teaching and research, and this is expanding every year.  Information about our student exchange programme can be found in the Subjects section which also outlines our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The pages in this section should provide you with a lot of the information you need, but if you have any further queries please contact the University of Edinburgh's International Office.
