Contemporary Art Theory MA
In addition to delivering the postgraduate degrees MA Contemporary Art Theory, MA Visual & Material Culture and MFA Visual Culture, the Centre for Visual and Cultural Studies (CVCS) is responsible for teaching students on undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in art and design. The faculty also supervise MPhil and PhD research students, either jointly with other academic departments of the College, in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, or wholly within CVCS.
The main CVCS office and the offices of all staff are located located in Evolution House, a newly built award-winning building situated on the corner of Lady Lawson Street and West Port, directly overlooking Edinburgh Castle in the heart of the Old Town. The space is wirelessly networked and equipped with state of the art teaching equipment. It serves as the main teaching, learning resource and organisational base for CVCS' Masters students.
The Centre is immediately adjacent to the College's library and learning centre and is only five minutes walk from the National Library of Scotland, Edinburgh City Library and The University of Edinburgh Library as well as numerous galleries.
