Our Open Day takes place on the last Friday of October. The Open Day is the essential event of the year for anyone interested in applying to Edinburgh College of Art. Whether you've already got your heart set on studying here, or you're just not sure yet, our Open Day is tailored to provide you with all the information you might need: tour studios, attend talks, speak to students and staff, get advice on building a portfolio.
If you can't make our Open Day, there are a number of other options open to you:
First Year Studies Visit Days
If you are planning on applying for entry to our first year studies art or design programme (equivalent to a foundation course), we recommend you attend one of our First Year Studies Visit Days. These days allow you an opportunity to tour the First Year Studies studios and facilities as well as gaining some general advice on preparing your portfolio and mini-portfolio. The next Visit Day is on Friday 30 April 2010 and runs from 1:30pm - 3pm. Spaces are limited so please book in advance by contacting Jane Thomson on 0131 221 6156 or j.thomson@eca.ac.uk
Art and Design: Direct entry to Year 2 or above
If you have completed a foundation course or equivalent, you may be eligible to apply for direct entry to Year 2 for your chosen subject area. Please contact the Academic Registry on 0131 221 6027 to arrange a visit to the relevant department.
Architecture/Landscape Architecture
If you are interested in applying to Architecture or Landscape Architecture, please contact the Academic Registry to arrange a visit to the relevant department.
Disabled Access
The campus is wheelchair accessible, with automatic doors, lifts and toilets all suitable for wheelchair users. However, access to some studios and departments is limited and departments will ensure that classes and tutorials are undertaken in accessible spaces.
The main campus is equipped with a Deaf Alerter fire alarm system and the main lecture theatres are fitted with induction loops.
