Edinburgh College of Art Fashion Show 2009

May's annual fashion show was another sell-out success, with six shows for the public and two performances for Scottish schools.

The following awards were presented at the closing show:

  • The Lochcarron of Scotland Award for Creative Tailoring and Accessories: Sarah Martin
  • i-on eca Graduate Fashion Prize 2009: Amelia Hobson
  • National Museums of Scotland prize for best coat design inspired by the Jean Muir archive: Nadia Scullion
  • The Stewart Parvin Award for Best Third Year Fashion Student: Lisa Leisos
  • The Stewart Parvin Award for Best Final Year Fashion Student: Joseph McGee
  • The Incorporation of Bonnetmakers and Dyers of Edinburgh Award for Best Innovation, Imagination and use of Colour in Textiles: Jenny Neill (this year, due to the incredibly high standard of work presented, an additional prize was awarded to Janet Gourlay)

The final year fashion students will now head to London Graduate Fashion Week where they will show their work on Sunday 7 June 2009 to industry, press and public, on the catwalk. Edinburgh College of Art is the only Scottish art college to show on the catwalk at London Graduate Fashion Week.

DVDs of the Show, priced £5.99 are available to purchase from the College. Please email the External Relations department for details.
